Open Call For The 2024 Award Young Women In International Relations Science

The Call for applications is now open and lasts until 30 November 2024. To apply, send a CV and a short research paper of up to 4000 words (without bibliography) on the topics of your choice, in the IR field, to the email balkanresearchers@gmail.com. Awards in the amount of 100 Euros with the plaques will be announced and delivered in December 2024.

The 2023 Award Young Women In International Relations Science Winner

This year, as the Balkan Academic Researchers Network, we had the honor of awarding the first prize for Young Women in the Science of International Relations. The winner of the 2023 award is Andrea Matijević, research associate from the Institute of Political Studies for her contribution and research in the International Relations field in 2023 and the research paper on the US-China relationship. All the best to Andrea Matijevic, and we will continue with this program and encouraging of young women to deal with international relations in the future as well!

Open Call For The Award Young Women In International Relations Science

In 2022, the Balkan Academic Researchers Network has established the Young Women In International Relations Science.
The award is dedicated to all young women from the Western Balkans region – young researchers, research associates or assistants - that are involved in the work of scientific institutes or academia in the field of international relations, including international security.

National Interests of the Republic of Serbia: from Contestation to Legitimation is a project funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.

The aim of the project is to improve the scientific fund about the process of defining and applying the concept of national interests and legitimizing these interests at the global stage through the use of international law and public diplomacy. It was to that end that we have decided to organize this International Scientific Conference as a multidisciplinary forum for sharing and exchanging ideas regarding different aspects of national interest in world politics today. While the focus of the project is to study the national interest of the Republic of Serbia, the conference will have wider reach.

Thus, the conference aims to gather scholars, experts and practitioners from various scientific disciplines: International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, International Law, EU studies, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology….

Institute for Balkan Studies with a Center of Thracology “Prof. Alexander Fol” (IBSCT) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) organizes an international multidisciplinary academic conference “Ethnic-Religious Problems in the Balkans: Theory, Practice, Policies”.
The conference will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria (29-30 May 2023), in Bulgarian and in English, in a hybrid format. It will bring together scholars to discuss key issues pertaining to ethnic, religious, cultural, minority issues in the Balkan countries, as well as historical, legal, and cultural practices and policies carried out by local, regional, and national authorities in the last two centuries, including the EU policies.
The conference is part of a series of academic events, under the project on “Ethnic, Religious, and Minority Problems in the Balkans in the 20th and 21st Centuries.” One aim of the conference will be to set up an international, multidisciplinary network of scholars working on the topic.
